Edison Foundation Supports Student Scholarships

Stan Evans, Chairman of the Foundation Board, presents a check worth $101,325 to Edison State President Dr. Doreen Larson and Edison State Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Tom Milligan.
The Edison Foundation presented Edison State Community College with a check for $101,325 to support student scholarships. These funds are a percentage of the Foundation's asset pool, which continues to grow thanks to the financial support of the surrounding community.

Scholarships are administered by the Edison Foundation and are typically bestowed or endowed by individuals, corporate partners, and civic organizations to support nearly 100 students annually.

"Dollars invested in students are dollars invested in preparing a skilled workforce," said Rick Hanes, Vice President of Business and Community Partnerships. "It is through scholarship opportunities that the Edison Foundation helps bridge the gap between a student's dreams and their reality. We want to see students reach their goals while being left with as little financial burden as possible."

It is the mission of the Edison Foundation to assist Edison State Community College in meeting its educational and community service goals. The Foundation accomplishes this through the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of corporate, foundation and individual donors, and by communicating the goals and needs of the college to the communities of Darke, Miami and Shelby counties.
