Greenville Driver Strikes Utility Pole on 49

On November 1, 2016 at approximately 9:17pm, Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Fire and Rescue responded to the intersection of State Route 49 and Hollansburg-Sampson Road on a report of a one vehicle injury crash into a utility pole.

Preliminary investigation revealed, Craig S. Goubeaux 32, of Greenville, was driving a 1995 Green Dodge Dakota southbound on State Route 49 when he fell asleep and traveled across the center line and off the left side of the roadway colliding with a utility pole knocking power out to some residents in the area.

Goubeaux was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to Wayne HealthCare for a head injury.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
