Concerned Citizens Call to Action Follow-up Meeting for Darke County Residents - July 8th

[Update: new message received, with some additional details.]

On behalf of the Citizens Against CO2 Sequestration, thank you to everyone who came out to support us last week! We were amazed and delighted with the response. It is wonderful to live in a community that takes an active role to stop this proposed risky experiment!

Due to the overwhelming interest, we have moved this meeting from the Nature Center to Lighthouse Christian Center 's All Season Place, 7 PM - Wed. July 8.

Unlike last week's formal meeting, this will be an informal meeting with a chance to ask questions and learn a little more about our group. We have a lot of work to do in short period of time and welcome those who would like to be actively involved.

If you'd rather be kept up to date by a newsletter, that is OK, too - just let us know and we'll see that you get that information.

We will also be splitting into committees as many hands make light work.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday night.

Again, thank you for raising your hand to help us stop the proposed CO2 experiment in our community!

Jan Teaford (co-chair)

The Citizens Against CO2 Sequestration will hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 8, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Christian Center's All Seasons Place on Sebring Warner Road in Greenville. The meeting, which was originally scheduled to be held at the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center, has been changed to the Lighthouse Christian Center's All Seasons Place in order to accommodate public interest and participation in stopping the CO2 sequestration project. Anyone interested in joining, working with or finding out more about the Citizens Action Group is welcome to attend.

  1. More mass hysteria! Why not just wait until the facts are clear ? Folks, if the CO2 isn't sequestered , it will be exhausted into our local air, which isn't really dangerous in small amounts (Its what we exhale, after all).

  2. Sure Barb ... let's sit back, do nothing, and then one day we'll wake up and have tons of pressurized co2 below our feet. Then it will be too late to wait until the facts are clear. At that point, we'll just be hoping for the best.

  3. Barb,

Where were you when the ethanol plant was being planned and discussed? I assume you were "waiting for the facts to be made clear"?

The POINT of all of this (mass hysteria) is NOT to have the CO2 sequestered. Yes, just let it be exhausted into the air. THAT is exactly what all this "mass hysteria" is about. And, I disagree with your description of "mass hysteria".
