ACCIDENT SENDS ONE TO MIAMI VALLEY HOSPITAL

On September 25th, 2009 at 1:54 AM, the Darke County Sheriff's Office, along with the Rossburg Fire Department and Ansonia Rescue were dispatched to the 13200-Block of Cochran Road in reference to a one vehicle accident with entrapment.

Preliminary investigation showed that a 2000 Chevy Cavalier, driven by Dawn Lavy (39) of New Weston, was northbound on Cochran Rd. Lavy's vehicle swerved off the left side of the road and slid into the ditch, striking a Darke Rural Electric Utility Pole. Lavy was trapped in her vehicle while Rossburg Fire and Ansonia Rescue worked to free her. Lavy was treated by Ansonia Rescue at the scene and was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight.

At this time the accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office. ~ DCSO press release.

  1. Is it just me or has there been a lot more serious car accidents lately? It seems almost every day we hear of another one. I don't know Ms. Lavy, but I hope she's makes a full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with her.
