Several car accidents in Darke County yesterday

On September 3rd, 2009 at approximately 3:37 PM, the Darke County Sheriff's Office investigated a two vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 49 at the intersection of Hogpath Rd. The investigation revealed a northbound vehicle driven by 42 year old Troy Thompson from Union City , Ohio was stopped behind another vehicle that was waiting to turn left. The utility truck was rear-ended by a pick-up truck driven by 70 year old Keith Weimer of Hollansburg , Ohio . Careflight transported Keith Weimer to Miami Valley Hospital . Mr. Thompson refused treatment on the scene. Charges are pending. Arcanum Rescue, Arcanum Fire, New Madison Fire and Greenville Township Rescue assisted the Darke County Sheriff's Office at the scene of the crash.

On September 3rd, 2009 at approximately 7:29 PM, Darke County Sheriff's Office deputies along with Arcanum Rescue, Phillipsburg Rescue and the Pitsburg Fire Department responded to a one vehicle rollover crash at State Route 49 and Schnorf Jones Rd.

Preliminary Investigation revealed a purple Oldsmobile, driven by Tammy Miller, 28, of Greenville , was northbound on State Route 49 and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Miller over corrected traveling across the roadway and striking a guardrail. The Miller vehicle continued into the ditch causing the vehicle to roll multiple times. The Miller vehicle came to a rest on its top in a waterway.

Passenger Gary Miller, 30, of Greenville was transported to Miami Valley Hospital . Miller's two children were also in the vehicle and were transported to Children's Medical Center in Dayton .

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
