Pike to speak to youth group

Cindy Pike, Darke County Clerk of Courts, will be the featured guest at Monday’s Youth in Politics meeting at Brethren Retirement Community.

The meeting starts at 3:30 p.m. and meets in the small meeting room directly across from the main dining room at BRC. The public is invited; especially all youth interested in politics.

The Youth in Politics group is a non-partisan group formed to educate young people about the political process, the role of public service in our society, ideologies and politics in general. Youth of all political leanings are encouraged to participate.

Pike will talk about her elected position with the Darke County Courts, as well as her role as Chairperson of the Darke County Republican Party. Featured guests to date include Democrat Councilperson Kathleen Floyd and Republican Mayor Mike Bowers. Future guests will include public servants from both parties at local and state levels.

There will also be discussion – pro and con – on the upcoming Ballot Issue 2 regarding livestock care standards.
