Come to the Great Pumpkin Fest

The Fall Season is a great time for families to plan adventures into the countryside, see the color on the trees, and create family memories. The Great Pumpkin Fest can be one of those family memories, just pack the kids in the car and take a drive to Chenoweth Trails.

The Great Pumpkin Fest scheduled on the first four Saturdays in October, is located at Chenoweth Trails (supported by the Light Foundation) at 441 Greenville-Nashville Road in Greenville. There are great activities available which include; a horse drawn wagon ride around Chenoweth Trails for the whole family, a walk down Hedge Apple Row with access to other hiking trails, and just sitting by the campfire together with hot chocolate and smores. There will also be a face painting, a free pumpkin for each member of the family, and wildlife/wetland observation areas; you never know what kinds of wildlife will be around to see. Don’t forget your camera; you will want to take great family pictures.

Additional activities include supervised archery by Dirk Lewis on October the 17th and 24th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. along with great food vendors each week; Smoke Stack BBQ on the 3rd and 17th, Shriner’s on the 10th and Baumbach’s BBQ on the 24th.

This is a family affordable activity, the admission is $2.00 per child (12 and under) and $5.00 per adult with all proceeds going to the United Way Campaign 2010. Just come to Chenoweth Trails at 441 Greenville-Nashville Road between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm on October 3, 10, 17, or 24 for great family fun. Fees will be collected at the parking lot, some walking is required.

Proceeds benefit United Way and their 23 non-profit agencies in Darke County. These funds support the citizens of Darke County through education, health and stability initiatives. The event is also supported by the Light Foundation.

If you need more information about the event or would like to volunteer time, call Gateway Youth Programs at 937-548-8002. They will answer your questions.
