NFL Open Thread

Apparently Marvin Lewis doesn't read the Darke Journal, or he would have addressed the long-snapper situation this past week. Bengals 0, Ravens 0.

Update: the Cardiac Cats are 4-1 ... and all alone in first place!

Update II: some of the Browns fans need a nature lesson ...

  1. They worked out several long snappers last week, obviously none were better than what they have.
If they can find someone they would sign them in a heartbeat.

  2. jeez... bengals steal "who dey" from new orleans saints and now they are stealing "cardiac cats" from the Cleveland Browns! Can't they use their own imagination?

  3. Please ... the browns team was from 30 years ago and never went anywhere.

Maybe the Browns ought to steal the Bengals strategy of being 4-1 ... :)

  5. Oh please they fired Billecheck. They cut Kosar which went to Dallas and got a Super Bowl ring, which he deserved no doubt. Maybe if the dogs had more bite than bark and could stop a drive within 98 yards they would have had a ring as a team.

    "Origins

The Who Dey chant is first known to be used by fans of the 1981 Super Bowl-contending Cincinnati team. It is similar to the phrase "Who Dat", which has been used in minstrel shows and early jazz music in New Orleans since the late 1800s, and was adopted by fans of the New Orleans Saints in 1983 during the tenure of coach Bum Phillips. The marketing team of the Saints officially promoted the term in 1983. In 1981, Bengals fans used the cheer during the Bengals' run to Super Bowl XVI, where they lost in the championship game to the San Francisco 49ers. The cheer again gained national recognition in their 1989 appearance in Super Bowl XXIII. Saints fans and Bengals fans argue back and forth as to which phrase started first, with the Bengals fans generally winning the argument."

Given, this is Wikipedia, but still...

On a related note... WHO DEY?!?!?!?!

  7. I can understand that a dog, even if it is a poodle, would support the Brownies. Why would any man that that has any shame about him.

  9. @ 847, that reads more like a professional wrestler's interview segment than anything else.
