Lyn Bliss followed Dr. Blickenstaff and presented the relevant facts behind the original formation of the Senior Advocates and the transition to the Senior Scribes. Joyce Livingston then identified some of the items of satisfaction received as a result of personal interaction and recognition for effort. Bev Hughes added comments about her enjoyment in learning about the SCRIBES and their acceptance for her offerings and appreciation for what the SCRIBES are doing. Al Bliss completed the seventeen minute presentation by describing the Scholarship fund accomplishments and goals in the two years and eleven months of existence. The fact that the SENIOR SCRIBES SCHOLARSHIP FUND is a non-profit charitable organization classified as a 501 (c) (3) by the IRS was announced. Although the SCHOLARSHIP FUND primary purpose to recognize and give some financial help to Darke County students that earn it, the seniors experience significant positive feedback and a warm sense of satisfaction from writing and working for the benefit of Darke County youth.
