DarkeJournal favors passage of the Greenville school levy - and predicts a favorable vote by a margin of 55%-45% (which may include a degree of wishful thinking). Any other predictions? Whoever is closest will get recognized right here tomorrow.
[Note: predictions only. Commentary on the levy itself is closed to allow for tomorrow's vote]
UPDATE: one anonymous commenter guessed closest with the levy going down 45-55.
Passes with an apathetic vote of 53-47.
ReplyDeleteThis one is hard to call, I seem to be hearing more negative chatter than there was on the last levy, I'll predict it loses, 53-47.
ReplyDeleteI'm saying 51 percent, barely wins.
ReplyDeleteClose, but passage. For what it's worth - they have my vote.
ReplyDeleteIs this the equivalent of Darke County's "exit polls"? In all honesty, I don't have a clue as to the outcome tomorrow. But, I am all in favor of it passing.
ReplyDelete49% for - 51% against
ReplyDeleteI think it will pass allthough I am against it but I think it will pass 52 to 48.
ReplyDeleteThe levy will pass with a very low voter turnout. 55.3 - 44.7 Ripple
ReplyDelete45 to 55 fail
ReplyDeleteThey have a special election set for august if this fails suzie needs to control the budget 15,000 to 20,000 for these elections who pays for that the kids. could they do one in november and we all know what would happen. Then people need to remember the property tax you just got and what it would be next year. tell your fellow property owners to go vote.
ReplyDeleteI think it will win by 4% - I think the voters of Greenville realize this is a true NEED, not a WANT and if they don't get it NOW, they will pay MORE later.
ReplyDeleteIt will pass by a slim margin. If so, I hope the school people do not abandon their current conciliatory attitude in favor of free-wheeling spending which has been all-to-often the case.
ReplyDeleteI just voted… I don’t know if it will fail or pass, it will be close. Someone above said if it fails, they already have a planned “special election” in August… I didn’t think they were going to allow special elections after this one? At least that’s what I heard. EVERYONE GO OUT AND VOTE
ReplyDeleteI believe if you all READ... the precursor to this comment board is to give your prediction. Nothing else. This is not the comment board to argue, or give your "for" or "against" reasons.
ReplyDelete56%-44%...for
You're right readitall. I took down your comment, Tim, because you didn't have a prediction. No hard feelings!
ReplyDeleteThanks, DJ. Some of these people just annoy the **** out of me!
ReplyDeleteI bet it fails by a slight margin.
ReplyDeleteWins, by a considerable amount, 54/46.
ReplyDelete(That's a considerable amount in these school levys)
http://www.electionsonthe.net/oh/darke/ - go to calendar.
ReplyDeleteSpecial elections for 2010 are 2/2 (today), 5/4, 8/3.
Only God knows the outcome of this election. I however believe it will be close, to close to call.
ReplyDeleteI hesitate to predict today's outcome. However, I am certain that by August we will be on our way to having a new middle school. Most of the time it takes a couple of tries in order to convince enough voters about the need. If it passes by a slim margin today of 51 - 49% I will be thrilled. All concerned folks in favor of this levy need to get themselves to the polls.
ReplyDeleteOK....a prediction: the levy passes by a SLIM margin of 50.25% - 49.75%.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go for the long shot and say we have a very vocal minority who don't represent the majority. Pass, 58% to 42%.
ReplyDeleteI saw very low turnout at the polls today and I'm thinking that's not a good thing for the levy.
ReplyDeleteDepends where you are - turnout in our area has looked to be fairly steady all day.
ReplyDeleteThe lower the turnout, the higher likelihood that it passes.
ReplyDeleteLow turnout, failed anyway.
