Modified Level 3 issued

A LEVEL 3 SNOW EMERGENCY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR DARKE COUNTY DUE TO SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOWFALL. NUMEROUS COUNTY AND TOWNSHIP ROADS ARE IMPASSIBLE DUE TO SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING.

Darke County Sheriff Toby L. Spencer has issued a LEVEL 3 SNOW EMERGENCY for Darke County .

This particular Level 3 Snow Emergency only includes ALL COUNTY AND TOWNSHIP ROADS IN DARKE COUNTY. This Level 3 Snow Emergency DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY STATE AND US ROUTES/HIGHWAYS OR INCORPORATED AREAS OF DARKE COUNTY .

All State and US Routes/Highways and Incorporated areas remain under a Level 2 Snow Emergency.

This Level 3 Snow Emergency takes effect immediately at 10:00 PM.

  1. that is a better way to do the level 3 i was on new madision coletown rd today it was bad one lane. north and south roads are all bad east and west where clear for the most part and the city of greenville is all good. i bet there no school on wensday and a delay on thursday

  3. Great decision by Sheriff Spencer! Mercer County has been doing something similar.

    It killed me when all of Darke County was on a level 3 when streets in individual communities weren't bad and state routes were passable. Personally I wish all the levels were simply advisory in nature. But unfortunately people can't seem to judge road conditions or know what their vehicle can or can't get through. This is definitely progress in the right direction.
