"The Party of No" is suddenly pretty popular

This is meant to promote a new discussion, if anyone is interested. Complete poll results are at cbsnews.com.

  1. Good news DJ. The USA Today/Gallup poll shows that more Americans say they are "enthusiastic" or "pleased" by the passage of health-insurance reform than say they are "disappointed" or "angry"—50 percent compared with 42 percent. Also, jobless claims are down. Things are looking up for America. That's what you're hoping for. Right, DJ?

  2. I hope things are looking up, but I'm not as optimistic as you.

As far as the polling goes, I haven't seen the poll you're citing. Rasmussen's today shows that 55% oppose ObamaCare, and I can only imagine that number will get bigger when people realize this bill does nothing for them right now.

  4. I think the American people will continue to want this bill to be challenged. There will be so many rules that come out of the bill that are intrusive into the American people's lives and decisions. For example,I just learned today that the new bill will require chain restaurants and other food retailers to provide nutritional information on their menus and menu boards. This kind of micromanagement from the federal government is frightening to me (I think I know whether I'm eating something fattening or not from a restaurant). I think there will be many examples of social engineering like this one.

  6. These discussions are senseless & moot since on January 20, 2013 a new Republican (more than likely) president will be sworn into office & one of the first things he/she will do is complete an executive order to abolish whatever health care / reform is left at that time. Besides whats with all this whining, hollering & constant bitching about anyways since MOST of the important parts of this legislation aren't even scheduled to take place until 2014, 2 years after the presidential election ... some people just like to fan the flames, stir the pot & keep the kettle boiling apparently ... some are NEVER happy unless they are being negative about something it seems, especially on here. I hope Sarah "get your gun shoot the moose watch some Russians out the back door" Palin wins in 2012 so the rest of us can start getting our laughs elsewhere other than FOX NEWS! BTW did RUSH leave the country yet as he promised he would if health care passed? I sure hope he takes his pals of O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter, Beck, Palin, Cheney, Bush, Rove, Robertson & the rest of that Hee Haw gang with him ... I think there may be even room on that old pick up for DJ also!!
