Greenville Mayor Mike Bowers, Garst Museum Director Penny Perry and, there’s Annie ! |
Greenville Mayor Mike Bowers signed a proclamation declaring 2010 as the “Year of Annie Oakley” in the city. Looking on is Garst Museum Director Penny Perry, and, yes, there’s Annie!
Garst Museum is planning a year-long celebration of Annie Oakley’s birthday, 150 years ago. On May 22 the museum is presenting a “Sure Shot Gala” as a fundraiser for the museum. Look for “Annie” as she goes around the county checking on donations from participating community businesses for that event. More information at www.garstmuseum.org.
There will be a great flower show in June; and in August there will be a week-long birthday party at the museum. The year will end up with wonderful Christmas trees using Annie Oakley themes in December.
