Volunteers needed

In just a couple hours, you can meet hundreds of Darke County residents while helping raise funds for a great nonprofit organization.

The Cancer Association of Darke County needs 20 volunteers to collect and sell tickets for the Darke County BBQ Smoke Off on Saturday, May 8. An additional 20 volunteers are needed to stamp patrons’ hands as they leave or enter the gate, walk around the site offering assistance and more. Volunteers are asked to serve a two-hour shift between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. This event will feature a variety of vendors selling barbecue-themed food and side items, as well as drinks. Volunteers for both positions must be at least 21 years old.

To learn more about this volunteer opportunity or other opportunities within our community, please contact HandsOn West Central Ohio at (937) 548-8002, ext. 211, or visit www.handsonwestcentralohio.org. HandsOn West Central Ohio, including Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, is a program of Council on Rural Services. This program receives funding from Darke County United Way, Corporation for National Service, Area Agency on Aging, PSA2, Darke County Commissioners, Greenville Rotary Club and the Darke County HOPE Foundation.
