Do you have an old, unwanted cell phone?

The Darke County Solid Waste District and Darke County Solid Waste Policy Committee member Pete Trocano are collecting unwanted cell phones. PaceButler Corporation from Edmond, OK will pay the district for phones shipped to them.

The funds received from the collection of unwanted cell phones will be used to purchase pre-paid phone cards for our Darke County troops stationed away from home. The Darke County National Guard Armory will handle the disbursement of the phone cards.

We are asking for your help. All we are asking is that you donate any cell phones that you have at home. Also, if you know of any businesses that provide cell phones to employees, please ask if there are unwanted cell phones they would like to donate. We don't even need the chargers or accessories.

There is no cost to the district to participate in this program, so 100% of the proceeds will benefit our county troops stationed abroad.

Where can you drop off your unwanted cell phones? Donation boxes can be found at the following locations: Darke County Solid Waste, Darke County Veteran Services, Eikenberry’s , Tractor Supply , KitchenAid, Montage, Broadway Joe’s, Mercer Savings, Darke Co. YMCA, Advanced Auto, Kroger, Francis Furniture, Old National Bank, and Mississinawa Schools.
