Lady Wave softball finishes regular season 24-3

The Lady Wave Softball team defeated Cincinnati St. Ursula Academy Saturday afternoon, 1-0, to finish the regular season with a 24-3 record. St. Ursula Bulldogs have an 11-3 record. The Wave won a double header Friday night, 2-1, in 10 innings over Huber Heights Wayne (10-9 record), and 3-1 over Youngstown Boardman (9-3 record). The Senior Day game featured the four seniors: Tiffany Carrubba, Ashlee Powell, Jordyn Fisherback and Devan Bruner. This win was the 45th consecutive home win for Coach Jerrod Newland’s varsity Lady Wave. Winning pitcher Jordyn Fisherback upped her record to 23-3 for this year and 49-7 for the past two seasons for the Green Wave. Jordyn also has 229 strike outs for this season, and a total of 824 strike outs for her four-year career (with Tri-Village and Greenville ). Coach Jerrod Newland’s overall record for the Wave is 205-40, beginning with the 2003 season. The tournament drawing is Sunday, May 2.
