The Darke County Photography Club has announced its Photographer of the Year awards for 2009-2010. Earning the distinction “Photographer of the Year” is Cliff Hensel (right) and “Rookie Photographer of the Year” is Mel Cabeen (left). Points toward these two titles were accumulated throughout the previous year in the club’s internal monthly and quarterly competitions.
The Darke County Photography Club meets at 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of every month at the Shawnee Prairie Nature Preserve Center. The meetings feature informative presentations by both members and professional photographers. Replacing the internal competitions are informal monthly photo feedback sessions conducted by the members present and quarterly photo critiques, comments provided by invited professional photographers.
The club is open for membership to anyone interested in learning about and sharing techniques in photography. It is not necessary to have expensive equipment to be a member. All that is required is a love of photography and a desire to learn more through sharing and participation. The club extends a welcome invitation to any new members.
