ROAST JIM SURBER!

From pot holes in the road to pot shots a Roast will be held for Jim Surber, Darke County Engineer. The roast will benefit the “First Mile” of paved recreational trails developed by the Darke Co. Park District. Having served as our County Engineer for 35 years, roasters have a lot of miles to cover!

Held on Tuesday, June 22, at the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center, guests will enjoy a social time beginning at 6 PM before having dinner. The roast follows and the evening will conclude at 9 PM.

Jim has volunteered his time to engineer the trails and agreed to be roasted to help benefit the locally funded portion of the Clean OH State Grant that the Park District has received.

The cost is $15.00/person or $25.00 if two people are attending together which includes dinner. Guests wanting to roast Jim, will pay an additional $10.00 for 5 minutes of roasting time.

Senator Fred Strahorn will be the MC for the evening. Special thanks to Maid Rite and Buchy Foods for their support of the event, and to Paul Ackley for his charicature of Jim.

The “First Mile” is located in Gettysburg and heads east. The trail will be paved early this summer. Paid reservations for the Roast, should be made by calling the Nature Center at (937) 548-0165 by June 18. Let the roasting begin!
