Four Injured In New Madison-Area Crash (Update w/DCSO press release)

TWO PATIENTS FLOWN TO MIAMI VALLEY

On July 4th, 2010 at approximately 10:42 PM, the Darke County Sheriff's Office received several calls reporting a serious multi-vehicle crash involving two pedestrians at Ritenour Road approximately a half of a mile East of State Route 121.The Darke County Sheriff's Office, Tri-Village Rescue, North Central Rescue (Eldorado), Northwest Rescue (New Paris), New Madison Fire Department and Careflight were dispatched to the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound vehicle driven by Matthew Cline, age 18 of Arcanum, struck two pedestrians and then a vehicle parked stationary on the road. The vehicle that was struck was pushed into a third vehicle that was also parked on the roadway. Careflighted from the scene and listed in stable condition were Lisa Nave, age 45 from New Paris, and Albert Honious, age 48 from Brookville , Ohio . Matthew Cline and his passenger were transported to Wayne Hospital where they were treated and released. A back seat passenger in the first vehicle that was struck was transported to Wayne Hospital where she was transported and released with minor injuries. The two passengers in the second vehicle that was struck did not sustain any injuries. This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
