The Ohio Department of Transportation needs volunteers for its Adopt-A-Highway Program. Volunteer groups adopt a 2-mile stretch of highway and pick up litter at least four times a year for a two-year period. Supplies and safety training are provided. Youth between the ages of 12 and 18 can volunteer with adult supervision.
According to the Adopt-A-Highway Program webpage, collecting trash is “an important and costly job to keep our state beautiful.”
