LOCAL YOUNGSTERS STAR IN THE FROG PRINCE

Darke County Center for the Arts will present two performances of Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of The Frog Prince at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville this Saturday, August 7. Curtain time for the matinee is 3 p.m.; the evening performance is at 7 p.m.

The lonely Frog of the title is played by two local youngsters, Jackson Pietrzak and Maria Hathaway. Casey Mortenson has the role of Ollie the Aspen Tree. Jalena LeMaster will play promise-breaker Princess Prim; her sisters, Princess Proper and Princess Peppy will be acted by Jenna King and Erica Hammaker.

Casey Puckett, Josiah Hootman, Brayden York, Seth Conway, Mason Demange, Mitchell Rawlins, Tanner Herrman, and A.J. Warner were cast as the noble but goofy Knights of the Castle. Kassidy York will be featured as Bertha the Alligator; the slimy, but kindly Swamp Things will be played by Brooks Blakeley, Taylor Denniston, Hope Stewart, Rachel Unger, Lucy Stiefel, Wiley Knepshield, Brett Campbell, Tyler Strait, Lillian Pietrzak, Lauren Warner, Christian Layman, Preston Pietrzak, Reagan Herndon, Chloe Rawlins, Zachary Miller, Sarah Crumrine, and Natalie House.

Featured as the flashy Flamingos are Jackie Kensinger, Ashley Adams, Nikki Wheeler, Lyssa Middlestetter, Hannah Coakley, Abigail White, Lauren Durham, and Grace Coakley. Jordan Campbell, Alia Ayette, Sophie Gettinger, Madelyn Durham, and Cole Kramer will play the waddling Ducks.

Grace Krauss has the role of the busy Fly who tries to escape from the nasty Venus Fly Traps played by Bradley Alder, Maxwell Jordan, Katharine Kauffman, Dillon Swank, Isaac White, Eva Woodworth, Carter Puckett, Winifred Stiefel, Maggie House, Isabelle Rammel, Isaac Gulley, Israel Layman, Alex Strait, Kale Conway, and Foster Brown.

Sara Rice, Micaela Kauffman, Addison Griffith, and Sarah Kensinger will serve as Assistant Directors, aiding the MCT Acting /Directing team of Sarah Mergener and Hannah Strickland. Judy Kugel will serve as the show’s accompanist.

Tickets for The Frog Prince are $5, and may be purchased at the door. This Missoula Children’s Theatre residency is made possible by a grant from Darke County Endowment for the Arts; Darke County Center for the Arts also receives funding from local businesses, foundations, and the Ohio Arts Council.   2. Plan to be here this Saturday, it is sure to be a great family fun night activity. These local kids have some terrific talent and are very excited to put on a show for you.
