Grace Resurrection Community Center is seeking volunteers

With colder weather fast approaching, one area organization is looking for some energetic volunteers to help pack away warm weather clothing items and put out sweaters and snow boots.

Grace Resurrection Community Center, a collaboration of several local church volunteer groups, needs volunteers to move boxes of clothing from its storage area to the clothing pantry room. Volunteers for this project should be able to carry boxes, climb stairs and demonstrate a positive attitude. Teens ages 15 and over, as well as adults, are invited to lend their hands for this project on Saturday, October 2, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Greenville. A brief orientation will be provided.

Providing access to free clothing is just one way the organization helps local residents stretch their dollars and save money to pay for basic needs, such as rent and utilities. “We are trying to help the community by providing clothing free of charge so money can be used on other necessities,” says Clothing Bank Administrator Laura Hart, a volunteer herself. “Without volunteers, this would not be possible.”

  1. I think Grace Resurrection Community Center is a great place. It does just a wonderful service to the people of Darke County. Not only does it offer free clothing to people in need. There is also a Food Pantry that people can go to once a month. In addition, they serve a soup kitchen meal on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 11 am to Noon. The volunteers there are so pleasant and helpful. They will even pray with you if you ask. We are blessed to have such a center in our county. I hope people will keep supporting the center.
