I've worked for a company called Factory Direct International for the last 10 years. We design, develop and manufacture fashion accessories such as fashion hats, baseball hats, knitted scarves, gloves and hats - and costume jewelry for major retailers and brands. Some of our customers consist of American Eagle, Aeropostale, The Buckle, Life is good, Urban Outfitters, Quicksilver, Volcom, Vans, Billabong and North face... to name a few.
One of our jewelry manufacturers is located in New Delhi and another in QingDao, China. I lead our jewelry division which includes design, development and sales. I present our accessory line to the buyers and designers in hopes for them to buy for upcoming seasons which eventually will end up in their stores.
We have a quality control office based in Shanghai along with our other manufactures that produce our baseball caps and knitted products (scarves, hats and gloves). I was visiting the factories to go over product development and discuss any QC concerns on orders. This was my 3rd trip to China but my first to India... Looking forward to returning to both countries as I love both the culture and the people.
After graduating 1990 from GHS, I went onto further my education at the University of Toledo with a BA in Fine Arts which has always been my true passion... my career has allowed me to express my creativity.
