Your personal experience can help local youth make positive choices as they recover from drug and/or alcohol abuse or live with family or friends who are addicts. Help local teens through their own personal recovery process during a one hour support group meeting, sponsored by Hope In Recovery, each week. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church, 114 East 4th Street in Greenville on Friday nights from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m., and volunteers should expect to serve from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Volunteers for this position should be at least 18 years old, and they must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Art Garland, Chairperson for the organization, states, “Being an alcoholic in recovery, each time I look into the eyes of our youth, I relive memories of how my alcohol abuse affected my two sons. ‘Hope for Teens’ wants to give kids another alternative for their lives.”
