After all these years in Congress, Mr. Boehner now "gets it?" That means he was either part of the problem before or too stupid to understand it. Either way, he's not the one to lecture.
Before worrying about earmark lobbyists, he should worry about the lobbyists throwing all that money around for campaigns buying favors on both sides of the aisle. Oh, but that might affect his career and that, my friends, is the most important thing of all.
Government employees make on average 2-3X more money than the private sector. How about we cap the salaries to $100k for the top tier positions. That would be a start domestically speaking. We also need to end these ongoing wars.
Now having made all these promises to "cut spending" with absolutely no specifics, tanned John & Co. will learn that it is far more difficult to govern than to lob grenades from the back row. It will also be amusing to see if they can take away earmarks from the biggest abuser of all--Sen. McConnell!
It will be interesting to see what Bachmann and Palin give Boehner permission to do.
ReplyDeleteI hope he proposes to remove the income tax.
