Goubeauxs Sponsor Handel’s Messiah

Jim and Enid Goubeaux with DCCA Chairman Marilyn Delk
Darke County Center for the Arts is pleased and proud to count Jim and Enid Goubeaux as Impressario Sponsors of Darke County Center for the Arts’ programs. “Holding the title of DCCA’s largest monetary donor outside of a local foundation and the Ohio Arts Council, the Goubeaux’s not only support the Arts financially, they are also our most involved sponsor and most enthusiastic giver of feedback, advice, and suggestions for long-term growth,” stated Marilyn Delk. “Jim and Enid truly delight in the performing Arts and are thrilled when they can be part of bringing an outstanding performance to our local community,” she concluded.

Jim and Enid’s sponsorship donation will be directed in part towards Handel’s Messiah, to be presented by the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus on December 11 at St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville. The 7:00 pm concert will feature a twenty-five- member orchestra conducted by Neil Gittleman; the fifty-member chorus will perform under the direction of Hank Dahlman. Concert-goers will be treated to a rarity when all three parts of the Messiah are presented; most often only the first section plus the “Hallelujah” chorus is featured in Christmas concerts. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students and may be purchased by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or DCCA@CenterForArts.net.

Classically trained concert pianist Alpin Hong will be the featured artist on Saturday, February 5, 2011, also sponsored by the Goubeaux’s. Completing his Master’s degree as a student of Jerome Lowenthal at The Julliard School, Hong has earned the reputation of a modern day Pied Piper. With his background of extensive classical training along with skateboarding, snowboarding, martial arts and videogames, Alpin Hong is truly a creative force unmatched in his youthful vivacity and boundless energy. Presented at 8:00 pm at St. Clair Memorial Hall, tickets for this humorous and visionary artist are only $20 and may be obtained by contacting DCCA.
