If conditions do not worsen, Level 2 will resume at 7am Thursday

A Level 3 Ice/Snow Emergency will remain in effect for Darke County through 7:00 AM on Thursday, February 3rd, 2011. Secondary roadways are covered with several inches of ice and driving on these roads is difficult to impossible. Temperatures will also fall into the single digits with bitterly cold windchills falling well below zero. These factors combined with the general hazard of overnight driving will create dangerous conditions and thus the Level 3 Ice/Snow Emergency will remain in effect until 7:00 AM.

A Level 2 Snow Emergency will replace the Level 3 Snow Emergency as of 7:00 AM on Thursday, February 3rd, 2011 unless otherwise advised or conditions worsen.

A level three ice/snow emergency means that ALL roadways are CLOSED to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Anyone traveling on the roads may subject themselves to arrest.
