As of 6:00 PM, Thursday, February 3rd, 2011, Darke County will be upgrading to a Level 2 Snow Emergency. The Level 2 Snow Emergency will replace the Level 1 Snow Emergency. With the sun setting, roads will refreeze and become treacherous due to thick ice. With bitterly cold temperatures expected overnight, conditions will be very hazardous and travel is not recommended during the overnight hours, particularly on secondary roadways. The Level 2 Snow Emergency will remain in place until 7:00AM on Friday, February 4th, 2011, unless otherwise advised. At that time, a Level 1 Snow Emergency will take effect.
