Tipp City's Willowtree Bed & Breakfast abruptly closes

Many engaged couples who had booked Willowtree for their wedding/reception are now out their deposits, at least for the time being. One Darke County couple with a scheduled wedding date in early June is now searching for a new place to get married (with few viable options). 1. If anyone knows of any lesser known venues with a 45 minute drive of the same idea please speak up. We are hoping to have an outside/inside a barn/tent wedding and our dreams have been crushed by someone who apparently doesn't care about 100+ wedding plans and numerous bed and breakfast registrations.

The owner has contacted me via email to say a letter and check is being mailed back to all brides. Even IF the deposit is returned this does not make up for the fact that we found out our venue is closed by someone other than the venue owner and on a four month notice. I feel terrible for the Late march and early April brides. Even after finding out the hard way if you were to drive by the "venue of your dreams" today all you see is an empty property, branches all across the yard, and no trespassing signs all around.

  2. Greatstone Castle in Sidney, OH. I don't think it's a B&B but it might work. Not how large of a wedding party or how many guests you have. Cooper Farm in West Milton might also be somewhere you would want to check out. There's also a place in Tipp called Harmony Farms. I don't know if they do weddings but I know they host alot of retreats there so they might be able to do something.

  4. Greenville Golf Course (formerly Greenville Country Club) has a few open dates. We can seat 250 indoors and offer fine dining. Call 937-548-2700 or see our link on Darke Journal
