FRIENDS OF THE PARKS WAFFLE BREAKFAST - March 5th

Sat., March 5: 7-10:30am, Shawnee Prairie Preserve / $5 Ticket Donation

The Friends of the Parks will once again be serving up a hearty breakfast of waffles, sausage, juice and coffee and of course pure Ohio Maple Syrup! This annually delicious event kicks off Darke County Parks’ Maple Sugarin’ at the Prairie Festival! All weekend long (March 5-6), the Sugar Shack at Shawnee Prairie Preserve will be boiling down maple sap, providing a glimpse into the history of Maple Sugaring. Enjoy maple history hikes led by park naturalists, taste some maple sugar, explore the Sugar Shack, try your luck at the 50/50 raffle and visit with our pioneer volunteers in the Log House! Be sure to pickup your tickets for the breakfast soon, as this event tends to sell out quickly! For breakfast tickets, call the Nature Center at 937.548.0165 or purchase them from any Friend of the Parks member. This year, Carry-Out is Available as well!
