  1. And the moral to this story is...If you really want to have it your way and someone stands against you, just have them removed and replaced with another that is on your side. Ah yes, living the American Dream...

  2. Agree Vader, pretty chicken_ _ _ _ on the part of Senator Niehouse (sp?).

  3. Quite a few political suicides occurred in Ohio today ... including the governor, if he signs this horrible piece of legislation that will impact negatively on every Ohio resident.

  4. As one who did not vote for Kasich, I am totally perplexed and mystified that more than a small minority of Darke County would be saddened by this legislation. 63% of Darke Countians voted for Kasich and he is doing exactly what he promised to do long before the election. Did anyone listen to what he said?

  5. Money does make a difference. The National Republican Party shot $1 million into Mr. Beagle's campaign and he defeated the incumbent Mr. Strahorn. Had this not happened, Mr. Strahorn would certainly have voted "no" and the measure would have failed 16-17. I hope people recognize this.

  6. I was one of the foolish people who voted for Kasich and Faber. I will not make that mistake again.

  7. Kind of like drilling a hole in your boat to let the water run out that is coming in through another hole.

This will just shift the tax burdon to another avenue. When Kasich cuts the budget and takes money out of the schools the local folks will have to pony up more to make up for it. Kind of like the ol' trickle down economics. Let the burdon trickle down to the average folks.

Yes the budget needs fixed. Politicians in Ohio and across the USA have spent like drunken sailors for many years (both sides of the aisle). Who's fault is it? Suddenly it's the fault of the teachers, firefighters and police. After 911 we looked at those folks as heroes, now they are a burden. It's amazing what people believe if they are told enough times by people with big money.

  8. The private sector guy says boo-hoo, welcome to the real world. My only complaint is 36 years ago when I entered the work force I had no democratic friends in a union to help me get in, so I didn't. You never scratched my back, don't ask me to scratch yours.

When was political party ever a test to get a job in a union? Your complaint is meaningless.

  10. Wayne, point conceeded with this basic fact. Cronyism is how to get in the union, not political party, but lets not forget that the lions share of union endorsement goes to the democrats.

  11. This bill smacks of communism, set wages and benefits? and the Republicans complained about Obama being a "socialist?"

Your last point is fully acknowledged and is the driving force behind SB 5. This is not an action to save money, but merely Republicans trying to stomp Democrats.
