April at the YMCA introduces CrAzY CaRtOoNiNg, a class where children ages 7-12 will develop social skills, self-esteem, and mad-scientist cartooning talent every April Saturday from 1:30-2:30pm!
Class begins with facial features—eyes, ears, lips, nose—and moves on to explore facial expressions, body posture, and body actions.
Children will have time to work towards a completed cartoon or comic strip during the session. They may opt to start a bigger comic book project and complete the rest at home.
Peer input will be an important part of the discovery process as kids work in small groups towards their final goals. Children will be encouraged to practice and share drawings from home.
