State of the Heart Sets June 3 For 16th Annual Golf Outing

State of the Heart Hospice will hold the agency’s 16th annual golf outing Friday, June 3 at the Greenville Golf Course. Sponsored by Midmark Corporation, the “Get Tee’d Up Fore State of the Heart” outing is the biggest fund raiser conducted by the non-profit organization which provides care to families and patients confronting a life limiting illness.

“As a non profit agency, we rely on our golf outing each year to help fund our special programs,” stated Ken Kurz, Director of Development and Public Relations for State of the Heart. “Our special programs include Camp BEARable, music therapy, free grief support for out patient families and community, and end-of-life care for individuals regardless of their ability to pay.”

He added, “This year we look forward to another successful event and welcome our major sponsors, Wayne HealthCare, Spirit Medical Transport, RB Advertising, Buchy Food Service and the Brethren Retirement Community. We’re grateful for their support and participation.”

The golf outing will begin with lunch at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a 12:11 shotgun start.
“We are looking for additional sponsors for the event and golfers who would like to join us in this important fundraiser which helps us meet our mission in the community,” Kurz said. “This is an excellent opportunity to have an enjoyable day of golf while helping State of the Heart.”

With offices in Greenville, Coldwater and Portland, State of the Heart Hospice serves families and patients in eastern Indiana and western Ohio. This year, State of the Heart is observing 30 years of service to our community.
