The Arcanum Historical Society Sponsors the Farmers’ Market

The Arcanum Wayne Trail Historical Society is again sponsoring the annual Farmers’ Market in downtown Arcanum at the Veterans’ Park next to the historical building. The event will take place every Sat. Morning from May 28th until mid-August from 9:00 A.M. until noon. The historical society will bring back the popular frozen soups and the famous Arcanum Cheeseburger soup will be among the varieties. New this year will be frozen ham loaf made from the recipe used at the John Smith Company grocery store that was located in historic downtown Arcanum. From time to time, frozen lasagna will be available as well. Other participants will be rounding out the Farmers’ Market featuring a variety of items such as homemade bread and pies, eggs, homegrown vegetables, herbal pots, flowers and plants, variety of handcrafted items such as candles, decorative items and more. The findings at the Farmers’ Market will change from week to week making it a necessary stop as customers do their Saturday morning business in downtown Arcanum. Make it a routine stop to search out the new items for the week.

Look for a mini yard sale featuring canning jars, dishes and other items in Veterans’ Park during the Saturday morning market, it will be sponsored by the historical society. There will be a large in-house garage sale at the historical society the last two Saturdays of the summer event in August. Mark your calendar for the large garage sales at good and affordable prices.

  1. Great to see so many new farmers markets popping up around the area! We will be sure to include you in the comprehensive listing of area markets we are creating for the soon-to-be launched www.eateriefood.com web site.

The site will be a resource for finding good, healthy, locally grown food around the area as well as housing the current Eaterie Food blog as it's new home.

Good luck on your new venture. We will be down to see you soon!
