Now the dream continues with a challenge from the Community Blood Center to anyone with racing in their blood. Eldora and the CBC are making it so rewarding and exciting to give the gift of life. Best of all, you don’t have to drive like Tony Stewart to end up in the winner’s circle. Anyone who registers to donate is eligible to win one of 26 Eldora Speedway tickets. There really is something for every racing fan in this prize list. Eldora is providing six tickets to the June 25 Tractor Pull, 12 to the July 30 Sprint Car show and six to the Monster Truck Show.
The Grand Prizes really hit high gear. Register to donate and you could win Tony Stewart signed apparel and a pair of tickets ($70 value) to the Kings Royal Race on July 16.
The blood drive tops off what Director of Operations Larry Boos calls an exciting month at Eldora, in fact the speedway’s busiest month of the year. “It’s a good community effort to show we are concerned and want to help out, especially in times of emergency,” says Boos. “It shows that we are more than a race track. We are an entity that cares about the community and the need to give blood.”
Everyone who registers to donate will receive the CBC “Redefine Red” t-shirt (remember baseball? It’s that “other” Great American summer pastime along with racing). The shirt is part of a series of donor gifts provided in partnership with the Dayton Dragons baseball team.
Plus, everyone age 18 and older who registers to donate blood this summer is automatically entered to win a 2011 bright red Jeep Patriot. You have until Labor Day to get in on the Jeep give-away, but the Eldora Blood Drive is a perfect opportunity.

Blood donation requirements: Donors are required to provide a photo ID that includes their full name. Past CBC donors are also asked to bring their CBC donor ID card. Donors must be at least 16 years of age (16 years old with parental consent: form available at www.givingblood.org or at CBC branch & blood drive locations), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good physical health. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) changes blood donor eligibility guidelines periodically.
