Darke County United Way Invites Volunteers for Stuff a Bus Day

Get a tan while you lend a hand! Volunteers are invited to join Darke County United Way as the organization provides a bus full of school supplies to children throughout Darke County this August.

Darke County United Way invites area residents to participate in the organization’s annual Stuff A Bus Day of Caring on Friday, August 6. Volunteers are needed to assist individuals who donate school supplies at two collection sites, one in Greenville and one in Versailles. Shifts are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers are asked to serve specific shifts lasting an hour and a half each. Volunteers should be at least 18 years old and able to work in warm weather. Some heavy lifting of items weighing up to 15 pounds may be required. Refreshments and a canopy will be provided.

Darke County United Way Executive Director Lauren Henry looks forward to helping area students again through this annual event. “We have been able to organize and provide supplies to all school districts in Darke County for children in need,” she says. In 2009, more than 10,000 supplies were collected through this event benefitting eight school districts throughout Darke County.

“We have been able to organize and provide supplies to all school districts in Darke County for children in need,” says Lauren Henry, United Way Director.
