The Darke County T.E.A. Patriots held a Town Hall meeting Tuesday evening at Lighthouse Christian Center in Greenville.
Several county officials made up the panel, including: county commissioners Mike Stegall and Diane Delaplane; Wayne Lakes mayor Gary Young; assistant prosecuting attorney Jesse Green; Greenville City Schools Treasurer Carla Surber; and Darke County Engineer Jim Surber.
The format was wide open, with members of the audience asking questions of the panel. The exchange was often more of a conversation as opposed to a formal question-and-answer process.
Not unsurprisingly, T.E.A. Party questions focused on taxes of all kinds. An extended discussion was held regarding sales tax receipts which the county has been repaying following an appeal made by a local business.
The Town Hall was attended by a modest crown of about 30 people. A cameraman from Dayton's News Source 22/45 was in attendance, so there may be additional coverage on the late news.
Did they serve tea? Maybe more would have attended if they did.
ReplyDeleteDid they provide tea to throw into the Greenville Creek to protest excess tax? Maybe more would have attended if they did.
Did they prove a point besides they are wasting their time? Maybe if more had attended their point would be taken seriously.
COME ON...Become a part of the solution, not the problem. Work with people and they will work with you.
