A Big Thank You from the Gathering at Garst

The first annual Gathering at Garst provided added excitement to an already event filled last weekend of July in Darke County, Ohio. A record number of visitors toured the Garst Museum during the two-day event. In addition to listening to music, eating great food, and finding just the right antique, garden item, or piece of art, visitors met up with friends and “sat and stayed a spell.”

Such an undertaking always takes plenty of supporters and volunteers to make it a success. The Garst Museum and the Gathering Committee would like to extend a sincere thank you to all who volunteered, donated, or lent their support. The Darke County Visitors Bureau, Spencer Landscaping Inc., the City of Greenville, Wayne and Sharon Deschambeau, The Andersons Inc., Buchy Food Services, Dick and Debby Sodders, Mercer Savings Bank, Gordon Orthodontics, Advanced Eyecare, Drs. Dickman, Kettler & Bruner, the Knights of Columbus, The Ivy League Florist, elementsLife, Eaterie Foods, Oliver Floyd Funeral Home, Wayne Healthcare, the Darke County DAR, the Ladybug and Junior Butterfly Garden Clubs, the Brethren Retirement Community, the Oakland Church of the Brethren Youth Group, Second National Bank, Bill Hawkey and Associates, Greenville Store-N-Lock, Greenville National Bank, Whirlpool Corporation, Kitchen-Aid Division, the Garst Museum staff, Bach to Rock Music and Look Here Photography. Performers Richard Ringer, Robert Behringer, J. T. Hathaway, Vaudeville Freud, Eric Loy, Bill Light, Aaron Frohna, Shannon Clark, Chris Supinger, the Darke County Dulcimer Society, the Darke County Park District and over sixty vendors. Critical to “getting the word out” were local and regional newspapers, radio, and on-line media that carried our many press releases.
