Brethren Home Community Services, owned and operated by Brethren Retirement Community is pleased to announce that effective July 20, 2011 we were certified under the PASSPORT Medicaid Waiver Program as a Homecare Provider. The purpose of PASSPORT homecare is to provide home care services, either personal care or homemaker services to persons who are income eligible with appropriate health care needs. PASSPORT is funded by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Aging. Catholic Social Services partners with Area Agency PSA2 on care coordination and caregiver’s support programs. Services provided by Brethren Home Community Services under the Passport Medicaid Program for homecare include the following activities: planning and preparing meals, grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions, laundry, light housekeeping, assistance with self administration of medications, assistance with eating, bathing, and personal hygiene, managing household and personal affairs and providing companionship.
At Brethren Home Community Services we believe character is extremely important. We hire only experienced caregivers and run a comprehensive background screening and drug test on each caregiver. Our caregivers must complete mandatory training and several of our employees are State Tested Nursing Assistants. Our caregivers are our employees, not subcontractors; therefore they have a vested interest in our company as we do in them. We provide services 24 hours per day 7 days a week and our phones are continuously monitored. Your home is just that YOUR home and you are in charge. Our caregiver follows your schedule to keep you comfortable and safe. Our service area includes Darke, Miami, Preble, Shelby and Northern Montgomery counties.
In addition to homecare, Brethren Home Community Services also offers the Shuff Club Adult Day Center on our Greenville campus where you can bring your loved one for a half or full day where they can participate in a variety of activities in a supervised comfortable home-like environment. The Adult Day Center is also a PASSPORT provider.
