Greenville HS CC Teams Complete 100 Mile Relay

The Greenville High School boys and girls cross country teams completed their 100 mile relay on Friday. The relay started at 6:00 am with one runner starting the day and ended at 7:56 pm with the entire high school squad running the final leg. The 100 Mile Relay was a fundraising effort for the cross country program with monies received going toward the cost of new uniforms and any other costs accrued during the season. Athletes sought out pledges from family and community members starting in May.

A huge thank you goes out to all of those who generously pledged monies, Eikenberry's for breakfast and fluids, Subway for the delicious lunch, Marcos for the much needed dinner, Greenville Fire Department for the 5 o'clock "hose down", parents, familiy members, friends, alumni, and community members for taking the time out of their day to come out and support us, athletic director TJ Powers, Kyle Shaner for the press coverage, and most of all the 30 student athletes who dealt with the long hours and sultry conditions in order to complete their mission.
