To Every American:

Mr. Al Bliss is ranting and raving (as usual). What he and his followers are not used to and cannot accept is having a president that is trying to lead us out of 8 years of disasterous decisions by their "beloved" George "W" Bush. From his first day in office, the Tea Party, Republicans and Mr. Boehner have laid out stop sticks on the road to recovery in hopes of ruining any chance Obama would have of turning things around. Their philosophy of "trickle down economics" and "no new taxes" did not work and will not work. Corporations are proving to be greedy and not spending money on hiring, giving raises, or benefits...the rich just keep getting richer.

It all sounds wonderful to Mr. Bliss when the Federal and State government cuts taxes....how many jobs will be lost, how many schools will be closed, how many people become homeless, how many highways and bridges go unrepaired, how many people are sick and cannot afford healthcare? Take a drive through the industrial centers of Dayton, where the General Motors and Chrysler plants used to be. You will see nothing there now put abandoned factories and parking lots. Take a drive through the neighborhoods in Dayton and see all the boarded up houses and burned out buildings. The jobs that left that area during the 8 years that President Bush was in office were the lifeblood of this area. I laugh when Congressman John Boehner says "Where's the jobs Mr. President!" He should look in the mirror, because it happened on his watch while his president was in office.

Politicians and Mr. Bliss can rant and rave all they want but in reality, no band-aid quick fixes will cure this country's ills. We lost our industrial base and good paying jobs to China, Mexico and India where corporate greed found higher profits due to cheap labor, less regulation and taxes. Now Mr. Bliss might be saying, that's exactly right, we don't need labor unions, to insure that workers are paid a fair wage, we don't need regulations to insure that corporations don't pollute our water and air, we don't need to pay taxes to pay for roads or schools. I ask Mr. Bliss is he happy now as he see's what's happening in our community, state and country. In their self-centered and racist world, the Tea Party and some Republicans must feel like kings when in reality, they should be ashamed.

  1. Wow. It's a good thing Jenny Clark isn't running for office... or is she?? Those are some strong accusations calling Al Bliss and a whole group of people racist and self-centered. I know one thing, and a lot of what she is talking about w/ jobs going to Mexico, NAFTA was signed in by Billy Clinton and a Republican congress. Good luck defending a false paradigm Ms. Clark.

  2. Jenny- great post.

  3. Generations and generations of poor performance from our elected officials in Columbus OH and Washington DC from BOTH sides of the isle, and this Jenny Clark is calling people she has never even met racist?

Whiskey tango foxtrot, and ya gotta love the internets!

  4. Jenny hit it square on the head.

While you can spend too much and spend it foolishly, you cannot have an effective government without spending money. Cutting everything is stupid.

And she's right about Boehner and company. The very people that helped put us in this mess are suddenly our saviors? I think it's called Smoke and Mirrors.

And people like Al Bliss and his kind offer no viable solutions, they just get off on the power they perceive they are getting by running their little club. Funny thing is that most folks think they are out of touch, including the GOP who used them in the last election and now can't control them. As soon as screw things up royally, the GOP will kick them to the curb. Wanna see it? Al....advocate to reduce Social Security or Medicare starting tomorrow. Not in 10 years. Watch your followers dry up fast.

"As long as I get mine!"

The greatest generation? How about the "Where's mine" generation.

  6. I totally agree with what Jenny is saying. I don't understand why so many Americans just don't see how the last 8 years have put us in the situation we are faced with today.

Yes Bill Clinton signed NAFTA and corporate greed has taken over our country. I believe that if you are an American company and you take jobs out of this country there should be a tariff when those goods return to this country to be sold. Where are the FAIR TRADE agreements we were promised? Looks to me like China, India etc our trading partners are not playing on an even playing field.

I also believe we must get the lobbist groups out our of the country and do what is right for each other and think about your neighbor again instead of the almighty dollar.

  7. I hope you people realize that the dems controlled congress for the last three years before the 2010 elections. Pelosi and Reid spent 5 and half trillion bucks. I thought obama was going to do awa with lobbyists? Oh thats just another broken promise.

  8. So is it Congress's fault for the debt or the President? You guys keep changing your mind. You blame the President (Obama but not Bush). Then you blame the congress but not the GOP congressmen.

I wish you would stick to one blame. This gets confusing.

If you need to check, I can wait. I think Rush is on or check Hannity tonight and get back with us.

Better yet, somebody call Big Al and ask him what he is seeing in the Tea Leaves.

  9. Wow, this is a short - sighted, uniformed opinion once again not based on fact, but is simply blaming our current demise on previous policy. Another case of brainwashed sheeple regurgitating falsehoods. It's unfortunate that people like her think that higher taxes and poor government spending of the peoples money is our only solution. Anyone with an objective view can see how corrupt both sides are, it's sad people are blinded by left and right when we should all be on the same side.
That said, to ms. Clark, a bit of fact checking and a brief economics course would lend insight into writing a post that has some factual backing, versus what we see here.

  10. The mess our country is in is the fault of three (that's right, three) groups; the Democrats, the Republicans, and the American people. Until this is realized, our situation will never be any better.

  11. A message to the House of Representatives, the Senate and the President. From the moment you took the oath of office you were no longer a Republican, a Democrat, or an Independent. You became an employee of the American People. Now get your act together and straighten out the mess you have made. It's time you quit acting like children trying to get your way and do your job. Or the next time you are up for reelection the American people will say "You're Fired!"

  12. Most of the automotive jobs went overseas due to the UAW, and their massive greed and burdensome costs and demands. Get your facts straight.

As for calling people racist, it's usually those with low intelligence who call something they disagree with racist when they have no true argument against it, ie, those race pimps Jesse Jackson and that fat greasy pile of excrement Al Sharpton. This country elected a black president, racism is no longer a huge problem in this country, except to those who wish to perpetuate it for their own benefit, ie people like you.

  13. Thank you Jenny Clark for making your ignorance clear to us.

  14. BE- There is a local restaurant whose owners are a good example of racism within the tea party. The owner's used to have derogatory cartoons and such about Mexican people taped on the glass where you ordered your food. People passing through could also read the comments on their business sign out front (in spanish) and stay informed about when/where the next tea party meeting was held. Many tea party members do not have a problem with advertising their prejudices so openly.

To be fair, though, there are racists in all sectors. There are more racists in some sectors and than in others (Darke Co. has more than their fair share-believe me I have heard it in people's conversations as I am out and about at different places all over this county). It may not be "fair" to categorize the entire group according to an extremist's opinion but the affiliation is what develops the overall perception.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jenny- I agree with you. Here is more:

Michelle Bachmann, the current poster child for the tea party, really is a piece of work. What a hypocrite. Go to today's Huffington Post and read this article (cut and paste into your browser):
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/10/michele-bachmann-stimulus_n_922851.html

Another article that is a must read- go to this week's TIME magazine- there is a story about the "triumph of the tea party." Scary stuff...

People are obligated to educate themselves and read as much as you can. Don't take the 30 second news bits as gospel- find out on your own.

    "Race Pimps"?
    "fat greasy pile of extrement"?
"racism is no longer a problem in this country"?

    Yep, no problems here.

  17. It is really easy to attack something when using the "anonymous" handle. I immediately discount anything by that person.

That said, until we get the big money out of the election process, this nation will not get better. For instance, do you notice all the negative advertising against the current administration? These are put out by PACs. Where does this money originate?

I think the Tea Party has many members that have good intensions. However, I also think many are lemmings, and ignorant (not stupid, but ignorant) of what is really happening. Racists and bigots? Every group has them, and, sadly, that will never change.

    OK, Anonymous, fire away.

  18. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and others use race to earn their living. They constantly insert racism where or whenever anything happens involving a black person.

I am sorry if you are so weak spirited and thin skinned that the term race pimp offends you, you should consider not even logging online if you are that emotionally fragile. Race pimp describes their type perfectly, they make a living perpetuating the differences between races, and accusing others of being racist, all the while benefiting and doing nothing to actually halt racism.

I thought i was being rather nice to cal Al 'the fake reverend' Sharpton that, I have a few other names but I will not use them in good company. But, I will say if he died today, it would put race relations in this country ahead by quite a bit.

No, race is not a big problem in this country, we have a black president, so get over it. Most people, with a few exceptions like any graoup, don't care about skin color. They care about integrity and someone doing what they were sent to Washington to do. I am sorry that you are obviously one of those people who think everything has to do with race, and I am also sorry that you feel the need to insert racism into every argument, but the rest of us have grown up and moved on. Maybe someday you will too.

"As for calling people racist, it's usually those with low intelligence who call something they disagree with racist..."

    Then BE writes:

"Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and others use race to earn their living. They constantly insert racism where or whenever anything happens involving a black person."

    And

"they make a living perpetuating the differences between races, and accusing others of being racist, all the while benefiting and doing nothing to actually halt racism."

So, in other words, they are racist?

Back to your first statement above, thanks for proving yourself right!

  20. I don't believe BE. The country is full of racists. Go past the Mason-Dixie line and tell me the race issue is no more...

  21. Why is it that most cities in the States that lean towards "liberal" are doing well and growing?

    ReplyDelete
  22. This Jenny character is a twit. Can I say that? I mean, she did call all Republicans - not just TEA Party people racists - so it seems fair. (She opened this can-of-worms....so I assume she can handle it)

Al Bliss is a poor representation of the Republican Party and the TEA Party movement.....I will give you that. Trust me, most of us on the right do NOT agree with his attitude and behavior.....but childishly calling more than half the country racists is not the way to respond to Al & Pals.

    Shame on you, Jenny.

  23. What has happened to our country and the folks that call themselves citizens. We used to be proud of ourselves and accepted our responsibilities as Americans and as leaders of our families. Now many think that the government should supply us with everything and we are just to sit back and get fat.
We need proud Americans that go to work and support themselves and their families.Oh one may say their are no jobs, there are jobs just not the one each wants. How many of us worked for a lot less pay and didnt like the job but we didnt just give up and sit in our recliners and waited for a check from the government.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Why is it that most cities in the States that lean towards "liberal" are doing well and growing?

You mean like California, Illinois, New York? Yeah what about Detroit? Those cities and states sure are growing. people are fleeing them to get away from high taxes. Get your "facts" straight.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Lol 3:37... you mean like Detroit, or the entire state of Michigan that is BROKE... California that is BROKE... Why is it the fastest growing states job and economically are REPUBLICAN STATES?

You need to lay off whatever it is you liberals are toking.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It is a well-documented fact that the most liberal cities in America are the cities that are failing the most. That's not even debateable!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thank you for your courage to speak the truth.....

    ReplyDelete
  28. I dont think California, Illinois or New york are cities, however Detroit is. Denver, Madison are Cities doing very well and lean toward the "liberal" side. Just to mention a few of the larger Cities.

    ReplyDelete
  29. If by truth you mean complete and utter liberal nonsense, then yeah....

Liberals have proven they are incapable of running an economy, one need only look at the largest liberal states, and cities, they are all floundering, and people are leaving in droves. Why is that? Because you libs are doing such a bang up job?

    You guys are a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You mean Madison Wisconsin that didn't have a budget in the black until the governor cut the throat of the thug unions? Righttttt..

Get real, you guys couldn't run a lemonade stand and earn a profit or not go bankrupt.

    ReplyDelete
  31. BTW, 8 of the top 10 cities in the US, based on growth, wages, crime, real-estate are all considered "Liberal". Get your facts straight. (these are cities of 100,000 or greater).

    ReplyDelete
  32. 10:30... Moochers moving to the Lib cities where the entitlements flow like water, means nothing.

Liberal States are floundering, and you can spin it all you want, but every time you guys are put in charge of anything you fudge it up.

Stick to your guys save the whale protests or go hug a polar bear or and let the governing be handled by the adults.

  33. Labeling others, name calling, berating folks no matter what your ideas, opinions or values are just because they different than your view- all are forms of prejudice whether you lean right, left, straight down the middle or are from another planet all together.

My greatest wish is to see the people of this community to take a step back, breathe deeply then take a moment to realize that our differences are what enable our ability to function as a society.

Life is all about balance, even on that accord, we need a certain measure of disagreement and multiple views in order to properly discern things from all angles. Any time a particular subject or direction in life gets weight towards any one line of thinking, it stands to fall into a negative state of productivity.

Just as when spending gets out of hand, we spiral into debt issues, so does the balance falter when we hinder our ability to think outside of the box for a new answer to what has proven to not be working.

I think most of us, as citizens of the United States and members of this community would agree- we have made quite a mess of ourselves! That is quite clear. The time has come for us to take a "time-out"(just like when you separate a pair of arguing toddlers)in order to allow the calming of our intentions, so we can rationally see a clear and present road towards a better solution to what ails us.

Our mere act of labeling things is a nature part of humans coming to some rationale in understanding what our existence truly means and contributes to our ability to function and think. Yet again, there is a healthy line where that labeling and rationale teeter between productivity and negativity.

Can't we all just present our ideas, agree to disagree if we must and stop tearing each other down personally for our ideas and beliefs? The beauty of life lies in the fact that you never know where the next connection may lie which provides another step or ripple in our existence. Who will be the next great leader, what small idea may bloom into the next great revelation, what isolated kid in a bed room somewhere may bring forth the next cultural, political, social, or scientific revolution. Brilliance often comes form the most unassuming of places- we can not allow ourselves to discount it and deny it before it happens.

After all, we all want the same basic things out of life.

Life. Liberty and the pursuit of HAPPINESS.

  34. I totally agree with Jenny. It's toooo bad the Republicans have their "heads in the sand." Where is the teamwork in politics. Republicans support corporations, and corporations employ quality and teamwork. Why can't that carry over to politics??

  35. Eaterie. Very good post. Thank you. We sure do need a real leader right now. Hopefully we can find one.

  36. Times like these often cause me to reflect upon the words of Aristotle-

“Anyone can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right person at the right time, and for the right purpose and in the right way - that is not within everyone's power and that is not easy.”

“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.”

“You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.”

“We become just by performing just actions, temperate by performing temperate actions, brave by performing brave actions.”

“Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence”

“A common danger unites even the bitterest enemies”

    All great thoughts to ponder.

  38. Hey Jenny, explain this:

Did you notice who Obama threatened when he wasn't getting his way on raising the debt ceiling?

He threatened to not pay: Social Security, Military, SS disability and Federal Retirees.

He did not threaten to stop payments to illegal aliens
He did not threatened to take frivolous benefits such as Internet access away from violent inmates
He did not offer to fire some of the thousands of unnecessary federal employees that he hired
He did not offer to cut down on his or his wife's frivolous gallivanting around
He did not threaten to not pay the senators and representatives or any of their staff
He did not threaten to take benefits away from welfare recipients
He did not threaten the food stamp programs
He did not threaten to not pay foreign aid
He did not threaten to cut back on anything that involves his base voters
The list could go on and on. He is in full political re-election mode! Why are we allowing this person to destroy this wonderful country with his selfishness and his lies? His type of change is killing our country. He needs to be stopped and only our votes can stop him.

Do not forget about his tactics when it's election time. Vote Obama out of the Presidency in 2012.

“2012: THE END OF AN ERROR”

    ReplyDelete
  39. He was asked what would be paid and what would not be paid. He said he didn't know but could include any of the top items, which makes sense since they are the biggest ticket items Scamp listed.

Another ill-informed person passing along gossip and scare tactics.

Had he not paid Social Security benefits, the Tea Party would have lost half it's base.

Give us a good alternative and the electorate will take care of the rest. In the mean time, stop spreading half-truths and fiction.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The truth is this president is inept, inexperienced, over his head, unprepared and not fit for the position. His radical ideology doesn't let him see any other way to solve a solution other than government, to Obama, and many on the left, government is everything. To them, the answer to any question is government. Now we have a glimpse of what this country will become if he is allowed to stay in power. So the question is, do we allow him to continue growing the federal government at a record breaking pace as he has since he took office, or do we go halt the growth of government, and allow the American people, and the states to solve their problems?

Government does not create jobs, nor does it create wealth. The government can only take wealth and redistribute it. So if the federal government is allowed to become an even larger leech on the body of this country, growth, wealth and the people will feel the burden. The founding fathers knew that small government was a good government, the federal governments job should be to ensure no ones chance for life, liberty and property be taken away, and to defend the US from foreign and domestic enemies. Not picking winners and losers in the economy, not ensuring everyone has cradle to grave health care, not to ensure everyone owns a home.

Either way the next election goes, this country is in for a change. The only difference is, one path will greatly weaken and lesson the greatness of this nation, and the other will strengthen the country and put us back on track to prosper and grow.

  41. Once again BE spouts his revised version of history and tells people what he knows will happen in the future. Sadly, he actually believe it.

  42. Thank you BE for presenting your views in such a clear and concise manner on your comment at 10:13am. I look forward to hearing more presented in a constructive way which shares your thoughts and ideas. Although I may disagree with you in some regards possibly, I fore see the presentation of all possible solutions and directions as being if the best value for our future. Our strength as a nation lies in our ability to share in the process equally.
