Local Senior Living Community Adds In-House Therapy Program

GREENVILLE, Ohio, Aug. 16, 2011 – Sterling House Greenville, a Brookdale Senior Living assisted living community, recently introduced Innovative Senior Care (ISC) in the community to better serve the needs of its residents. ISC offers ancillary services including physical, occupational and speech therapies; specialized clinical programs designed for seniors; and health education programs.

Studies have shown residents of senior living communities who engage in a comprehensive health and wellness program, including rehabilitation, fitness and education, achieve a higher quality of life and maintain their independence longer. Integrating proactive and reactive services, Innovative Senior Care treats the effects of aging while educating residents about healthy aging.

To assist residents in maintaining and improving their independence, ISC offers health education and group exercise classes. In addition to traditional home health and therapy treatments, Innovative Senior Care offers rehabilitation massage therapy, chair yoga and Tai Chi.

As a component of ISC, Brookdale offers the Care3 Wellness program, a comprehensive nursing, therapy and wellness system. Care3 Wellness is comprised of three components: rehabilitation, fitness and education.
