The Carson Palmer Era of the Cincinnati Bengals Has Officially Closed

Photo from the Raider's Twitter Page
Well, it's official, Carson Palmer is now an Oakland Raider (were the reports of Al Davis' passing greatly exaggerated? No.).

In return for letting go of the now unnecessary QB ("The Red Rifle" has proven more than adequate thus far), the Bengals will receive a 2012 first rounder and a conditional 2013 1st rounder.

What do Darke Journal's resident Bengal fans think? Personally, I'm happy to not have to worry about it anymore and look forward to when Carson and the Raiders play the Bengals next season (if they don't meet in the playoffs somehow first...).

  4. No matter how people feel about Mike Brown, he sure knows how to swing a trade. Fleeced New England for a 2nd Rd pick for Corey Dillon (who only played three more years, one productive), and had a replacement waiting in Rudi Johnson. Refused to trade Ocho because there was no replacement. Now pulls a 1st and a 2nd for Carson, who has already been replaced and would have returned nothing had Brown just let him sit.

Brown may be cheap and kind of an idiot with how he runs the franchise, but when it comes to trades, he has done very well!
