CHILDREN LEARN ABOUT APPLES at Downing's Fruit Farm
The children in the New Beginnings classroom at Kids Learning Place in Greenville visited Downing’s Fruit Farm to learn all about apples.
Scott Downing took the children on a walk around the orchard and showed them how apples are picked; each child got to pick their very own apple to munch on as they walked. The children learned about making cider and how apples are sorted and graded. They talked about other kinds of fruit trees like plum and pear as well. The trip ended with all the children getting apples to take home for their family. It was a great learning experience and a great day.
