DCSO: Two Teens Injured in Tuesday Morning Crash

On October 18, 2011 at approximately 9:36 AM Darke County Deputies, along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Greenville Fire, Union City Ohio Fire, CareFlight and University AirCare were dispatched to the 4100 block of State Route 571 west in reference to a one vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a burgundy 1988 GMC truck, driven by Matthew A. Adams, 18, Greenville, was westbound on SR 571 east of Ludy Road, when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a utility pole. The vehicle continued west through the ditch striking a large landscape rock causing the truck to overturn. While the truck was rolling over it struck a tree collapsing the cab. Both passengers of the GMC truck were extricated by mechanical means.

Adams was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. The passenger in the vehicle, Sterling O. Seiler, 18, Greenville, was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by University AirCare of Cincinnati. Adams is listed in Fair condition and Seiler is listed in Stable condition.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office
