The League of Women Voters of Darke County will once again sponsor a Candidates' Forums for the November General Election, Monday, October 24 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the American Legion, Ohio Street in Greenville. This non-partisan forum will focus on the contested candidates for Darke County Municipal Court, Greenville Board of Education and Greenville City Council, Ward 1. Information on State and local issues will be presented at both Forums.
Candidates listed below will give two minute introductory speeches. Following that, they will answer questions. The public is encouraged to attend and submit written questions. Questions are then screened by a panel of League members, equally represented from the Democratic and Republican parties. The following candidates are listed in the order that they will appear on the program.
- Darke County Municipal Court Judge: (Vote for one): Jesse Green ( R) or Julie Monnin (D, incumbent).
- Greenville City Schools Board of Education: (Vote for two): Diana L. Banta, Fred Matix, Joe Payne, Jim Sommer (incumbent).
- Greenville City Council, Ward 1 (Vote for one): Isabel Culbertson (D) or Clarence Godwin (R).
Also scheduled is a Candidates’ Forum on Monday, October 17, focused on Arcanum Mayor and School Board Candidates. That will be held in the new Arcanum school Cafetorium at 7 PM.
