Guest Post: "The Real Deal"

Guest posts are welcome and encouraged. If you have something to say and are able to do it in a respectful, reasonable way, send your piece to darkejournal@gmail.comThe contents of guest posts do not necessarily reflect the opinions of DarkeJournal.com.

I’ve had the opportunity to be on the campaign trail all year with Jesse Green in his bid for Municipal Court Judge, and the experience has been very enlightening. I believe now I can say with even more confidence that Jesse is by far the best choice for Darke Countians to put on the bench. I am also confident that there are many reasons why we need a change.

I knew I wanted to support Jesse in this endeavor for many reasons. His resume alone should be enough for most reasonable people. For those of us who have gotten to know him beyond his work and military history, we also know that he is the real deal; he is genuine to his core. I could list his character qualities here, but I would surely exceed the word limit for this letter. What I will say is that he and his family are loved and supported by all who know them, and that is because they treat people with respect and behave honorably in all that they do. Darke County is blessed to have had families like the Green’s choose to make their home here.

Throughout this year I have also had the chance to meet and speak with many other citizens and listen to their stories and concerns. I have enjoyed that thoroughly. However, one thing I have definitely learned is that there are in fact issues with our municipal court that need to be addressed. Many people have shared personal experiences from the courtroom with me; stories that have upset me, stories that have shocked me, and stories that downright made me angry as a citizen of this county. I expect better, and so should you. My family and I deserve better, as does yours.

It IS “broke,” and it needs fixed! I know that Jesse Green is the right person to do just that. I want all of the people of my community to be treated fairly and justly. If you agree, please join me by supporting Jesse on November 8th.
