GATEWAY YOUTH PLANS PERSONAL SAFETY WORKSHOP

In this day and age all youth need to learn more information about staying safe and reducing personal risks while trying to preserve the innocence and optimism of childhood.

In order to keep our children safe, the Gateway Youth Program is sponsoring a 10 week workshop “Think First and Stay Safe” that empowers children with personal safety strategies for youth in grades 3, 4, and 5. Students in the program will learn skills to reduce their risk of being bullied or victimized, learn internet and personal safety and fostering self-esteem. Parents are also encouraged to attend the first and last group sessions.

The program will be held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at the Gateway Youth Program office at 116 E. Third Street in Greenville. The classes begin on January 24 and run through March 27, 2012. The cost of the program is $25 per child and scholarships are available.

Call today for more information or to pre-register your child, talk with Kelly Harrison at 937-548-8002. For more information about the workshop curriculum check the website at www.childluresprevention.com.
