On January 18, 2012, the Darke County Commissioners signed a proclamation endorsing the Point-In-Time Count for the Continuum of Care Consortium that is scheduled to be done January 25th. The purpose of the count is to tally the number of sheltered homeless and those persons who are homeless. Some people may be living in cars, at campgrounds, under bridges or other locations throughout the county. The commissioners recognize the efforts of the consortium have resulted in new partnerships of agencies and individuals who are committed to help fight the homeless plight.
