DCCA PRESENTS BLUEGRASS BAND AT THE BISTRO OFF BROADWAY

The Muleskinner Band will perform their unique blend of bluegrass, gospel, and country music at the Bistro Off Broadway in Greenville on Thursday, March 8. A part of Darke County Center for the Arts casual Coffeehouse Series, the show starts at 7 p.m. “An evening with the Muleskinners may include a little Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, some Patsy Cline, and something from the Doobie Brothers as well as traditional bluegrass songs,” said Keith Rawlins, DCCA Artistic Director. “You can count on tight harmonies, excellent musicianship, and delightful storytelling from these outstanding performers, almost guaranteeing a good time for all,” Rawlins concluded.

The Muleskinner Band, which has been performing for nearly 20 years, is made up of founding member Bill Purk, who sings and plays guitar and mandolin, singer/bass guitarist Gary Markin, guitarist/vocalist Ed Weisenbach, and newest member banjo player Jim Peterson. The group has appeared on The Nashville Network, performed at the Ohio State Fair, and opened for Diamond Rio and The Kentucky Headhunters, as well as many others.

DCCA's Coffeehouse Series offers concert-goers the opportunity to enjoy high quality performing artists in a comfortable social setting where food and drink can also be enjoyed. The series is sponsored by Tom and Julie Graber, Steve and Eileen Litchfield, and Rodney Oda. Additionally, the Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans; this program is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Tickets for The Muleskinner Band are $10, and can be reserved by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or dcca@centerforarts.net. If any remain by showtime, tickets will also be available at the door. Those wishing to dine at The Bistro Off Broadway can make dinner reservations by contacting the restaurant at 937-316-5000.
